Today, we have some heartbreaking news from Emmerdale as the show gives us an update on Chloe Harris and her son, Ruben, nearly a year after their surprising exit. Fans are still buzzing about Chloe’s sudden departure, and now we finally get a glimpse into her life following her exit, thanks to some recent events involving her ex-partner, McKenzie Boyd.
In this week’s episode of Emmerdale, Chloe’s name was brought up during a secret meeting between McKenzie and Amy Wyatt. It’s been almost a year since Chloe and Ruben left the village, but the effects of their absence are still being felt. McKenzie, whose life has taken a downward turn since Chloe left, has been involved in a number of shady dealings, one of which has major consequences for Ross Barton. McKenzie had impulsively stolen a bag of cash from an illegal boxing match that newcomer Jade had organized, and that missing money is about to cause a storm. Jade wrongly blames Ross for the theft, and now she’s targeting those close to him as part of her revenge plot.
As the episode unfolds, we see McKenzie’s plans for the stolen money start to take shape. His focus shifts to making sure his son, Ruben, has a good Christmas. He is determined to spoil his stepson, Moses, and provide for his own son despite being separated from him. In a move that shocks Amy, McKenzie secretly meets with her and asks her to pass on an envelope of money to help support Ruben. He tells Amy that he’s been saving up for a year and wants to make sure Ruben knows that his dad still loves him, even though they’re not together.
However, Amy is suspicious of McKenzie’s story and presses him for details. She eventually agrees to help, but there’s more to the story than McKenzie lets on. She mentions that things are going well for Chloe and Ruben, who are apparently “thriving.” Amy says that while kids can be expensive, Chloe and Ruben are doing just fine. In a surprising gesture, Amy offers to send McKenzie some photos of Ruben so that he can see how his son is growing. But McKenzie, clearly still haunted by his past with Chloe, quickly declines, insisting that seeing pictures of Ruben would be “too hard” for him to handle.
For those who have been following Chloe’s journey on Emmerdale, this update provides some clarity on what’s been happening since her sudden exit. Chloe and Ruben left the village on Boxing Day last year, marking the end of her long-running love triangle with McKenzie and Charity Dingle. At the time, McKenzie was devastated by Chloe’s departure, and she took Ruben with her, leaving McKenzie heartbroken.
Jessie Ellen, the actress who portrayed Chloe, shared an emotional farewell after leaving the show. She said, “I’ve had the best two years of my life playing Chloe and being a part of Emmerdale. It never got any less surreal to walk through the stage door at the studios or to be stood outside the Woolpack at the village. I feel so privileged to have been given this opportunity and to have been trusted with such wonderful storylines.”
Though Chloe’s time in the village was filled with dramatic twists, her departure left a lasting impact on McKenzie and her fans. While we don’t yet know what’s next for her or Ruben, this new development with McKenzie and Amy suggests that Chloe may still be trying to keep a low profile, despite McKenzie’s attempts to stay involved in Ruben’s life.
This emotional update leaves us wondering about Chloe’s future and what lies ahead for her and her son. Is she truly thriving as Amy suggests, or is there more trouble ahead for the Harris family? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for more Emmerdale spoilers and let us know your thoughts on this latest twist!
