Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi) made an unexpected return to Emmerdale after an extended absence, popping up briefly in Wednesday’s (November 27) edition of the ITV soap.

The wedding planner arrived at the salon via the Take A Vow entrance during the episode in question, hoping for a word with Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).

Mandy was nowhere to be seen but instead Leyla witnessed a heated exchange between Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).

Amelia explained that the jumper she was wearing was a gift from Tom King (James Chase) but Belle confirmed that she had one just like it – and it’s gone missing.

Leyla’s interest was piqued by such a thing, branding the situation a ‘bit weird’.

This marks her first appearance since July 23, when she was seen attending a boozy lunch at The Woolpack with her fellow ladies.

She also gave Ella Forster (Paula Lane) a piece of her mind over Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), telling her that she will be looking out for the GP, who is her ex-husband.

Fans had been wondering where Leyla was given that it’s been over four months since we last saw her so they’ll no doubt be delighted by her comeback.

However, the joy is set to be short-lived, with reports claiming that Leyla is set to be killed off after 16 years.

A source close to the actress told The Sun of her excitement about this new chapter: ‘Roxy has adored her time on the soap and has made so many happy memories since first joining when she was just 17.

‘The cast have become like family to her, and she has grown so much as an actress. But now, she feels it’s the perfect time to spread her wings and try something new.’

While the details of Leyla’s death are being kept under wraps, it’s seems that the storyline will be a major event in Emmerdale.
