EMMERDALE fans think they’ve worked out what could happen to abuser Tom King, especially as his abuse of Belle Dingle continues.

Fans of the ITV soap think they’ve worked out the Emmerdale storyline for abuser Tom King, which could see him finally get his downfall after months of cruel taunts and abuse to wife Belle Dingle.

Writing on Reddit, one viewer shared their theory: “I’m calling it. A tired old soap plot line but you can see it coming.

“The way he’s in people’s faces now, like yesterday Cain and Paddy – he’s going to go around the entire village giving everyone a reason to kill him.

“Then there’ll be tonnes of episodes showing who did what from their perspective.

“And it’ll end up being Amelia that kills him. Or someone totally random like Claudette.”

They’re not alone with their theory either, as another gave their thoughts: “I think Tom will get murdered on Christmas day- setting up a ‘whodunnit’- and similar to Lauren killing Joel in Corrie, it’ll be a complete flop, extremely predictable, with Belle ending up being the killer.”

Another added: “I said this at the beginning of the storyline, they’re setting up a ‘Who Killed Tom King Jr’ which is ironic considering Classic Emmerdale is currently at 2006 the year of ‘Who Killed Tom King Sr’.”

Another didn’t see Tom being killed off but instead shared their theory: “It’ll be Piper returns after she gets lost and they contact Belle saying she has been found and everyone will know what Tom has done and he’ll leave as Jimmy throws him out.

“Amelia will see she made a fool of herself and make a fresh start elsewhere away from the village and Tom. That’s my thoughts.”

The discussion comes as soap boss Iain Macleod previously hinted that Christmas Day would be a big storyline for Emmerdale.

Whilst speaking backstage to The Sun and other press at the 2024 National Television Awards, Iain admitted: “This Christmas, there is a huge surprise arrival on Christmas Day.

“As well as some life or death jeopardy on Christmas Day but obviously there will be festive brilliance as we do every year but I think it is one of the most exciting Christmases that I can remember on Emmerdale this year!”

The soap has also confirmed there will also be a surprise wedding for the Dales too.

He also hinted even more carnage that would hit the Dales into the New Year.

He said: “Christmas in soap is a difficult one as you want it to be dramatic and exciting but you also want it to have that humorous, warmth and festive soapy flavour and I think the balance is bang on here.

“But into 2025, what we have planned so far is the usual degree of spectacle and drama and heightened kind of filming stuff.

“We also have incredibly heartbreaking family drama with plenty of Dingle action.

“There is also some classic gothic antics at Home Farm – some skullduggery!

“It is going to be a really exciting 2025 with lots more to come.”
