Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley has teased his character Cain Dingle will come very close to confessing his infidelity to Moira in upcoming episodes.
Cain recently betrayed his wife by sleeping with his sister-in-law Ruby Fox-Miligan while he was anxiously awaiting an update on Moira’s brain operation. He instantly regretted it and has made Ruby swear to keep quiet.
However, an arrest at the worst time and a further spiral into drinking may make everything come out next week…
Explaining what goes down, Hordley said: “[Dr Liam] reminds him it’s an important appointment and he’s questioning why he hasn’t gone with his wife? So he kind of talks Cain round, and he knows he needs to get to the hospital as soon as he can.”
Unfortunately, there’s an incident with Cain forcing Jai Sharma’s car out of the way, and PC Swirling intercepts him on the way to the hospital. Although the officer understands the situation, he isn’t sympathetic, and carts Cain off down to the station.
“He stays in the cell for the night, which means he misses the appointment with Moira,” Hordley said.
“The next day Liam finds him at the allotment and he is feeling terribly guilty, he is absolutely drunk as a skunk. Liam takes him home and he and Moira have an argument. She makes him feel guilty about the party she is planning and tells him to sort himself out.

“[Cain] can’t handle the situation, so he’s masking it and trying to push it down somewhere else by drinking or avoiding situations. But it’s all there, every day, when he sees Moira, who’s obviously suffering with her illness.”
The actor admitted Cain is “feeling terribly guilty about what he did and the way he did it”, adding: “He knows if that comes out nobody’s gonna have sympathy with it, nobody.”
Despite that, Hordley admits that Cain comes very close to confessing while drunk, but will he go through with it?
