EMMERDALE fans have broken down in tears of relief after the police finally charged Tom King for abusing wife Belle Dingle.
The vet – who is played by actor James Chase in the ITV soap – had been abusing Belle for more than a year in a sick year of coercive control.

But after Belle managed to break free from his control, Tom has stepped up his campaign to discredit her to save himself from prison.
However today his luck ran out when the police managed to recover his secret recordings fo Belle.
Tom was taken in for further questioning and confronted with the police’s new evidence.
Shown screengrabs of the footage he had taken of Belle in the house alone, Tom, ignoring the advice of his solicitor insisted he could explain it all.
Though it soon emerged that he failed.
And later at The Woolpack, Belle was horrified to spot a police detective arrive.
“He’s here for me,” she said.
“I know why you’re here OK so let’s just get it over with.”
“Mrs King,” the detective said.
“I’m not here to arrest you. Our forensics team retrieved all of the files from Mr King’s tablet and a lot of the footage corroborates your statement.

“So Thomas King has been charged with coercively controlling behaviour and assault against you.
“I’m also here to inform you Belle that at this time, we will not be proceeding with any case against you.”
“I can’t believe it, thank you so much,” she replied, her eyes full of tears.
And she wasn’t the only one with viewers becoming emotional over the beginning of the end of the storyline.
